The bride and groom were truly amazing. Everything was classic elegance from start to finish. The reception was an absolute blast. And, wait for it... there were only children everywhere! (I might be a bit dramatic.) I realize that given all the awesome details of the big day, this probably doesn't rate right up there at the top for most people...but to this only child, it was fantastic! (I feel a story coming on...)
I already knew this fun fact about Shannon because Dac used to work with her dad, and he always told me how Shannon's dad reminded him of my dad... oh you know, like really proud and really cool and stuff. =) At the rehearsal dinner, however, Shawn and Shannon gave introductions and told stories about each member of their wedding party. Anyway, Shannon started talking about her matron of honor, and how they were matched up as roommates in college since they both played golf. Well, Bertie (who is married to an only child now) just so happened to be an only child too!! She talked about how when everyone found this out, they were worried about them being able to get along with each other because, since they were both only children, they MUST be complete spoiled brats who MUST get their way and CAN'T share, right? WRONG! (I absolutely despise this stereotype, but I'll restrain from getting on my soapbox.) That couldn't have been further from the truth, because they are two of the sweetest people and they got along SO well, that they became the sisters neither of them ever had. Hooray for that!!! =D All this to say, it was kind of fun to be around "my people". Ha!
Now, then, back to why we're all here....the wedding. The girls enjoyed a day of pampering at the hotel. I got to hang out with them too, which was a blast. One of the girls asked if it was weird spending the day with strangers while they get ready. Well, when you put it that way....it is kind of strange, but it's really one of my favorite parts of the wedding day. I really get to know the people involved and since we always work with super fun people, there's never a dull moment and it never feels weird. In fact, I know I've said this plenty of times before, but at the end of it all, I felt like I had known Shannon for years. While the girls got glamified, the guys played some golf and hung out.
The church was full of candles and beaming smiles...like I said, it was beautiful. The venues were so full of character and had a classic elegance about them. After the ceremony, a stretch Escalade and a party bus took us around town to do some fun wedding party portraits. Then, there was plenty of eating, dancing, and photo booth posing to be had at the reception. Speaking of which, Dac and I hopped in the photo booth too. I'll have to dig out our pictures and post them for you so you can see just how
Hope you enjoyed looking at them as much as we enjoyed taking them. Plenty of new posts headed your way soon!
Alison came our way via our friend/cousin, Erica. I tell you what, we have been SO very blessed with referrals. We've got to meet some really awesome people all because of this, and Alison and Jerrod are two of them!
Alison is down to earth and sweet as she can be so she fits well with Jerrod who is just a solid nice guy and fun to be around. Their friends and family were nice too! We like that. =)
Anyway, the wedding was beautiful and a wild dance party followed. I tell you what, these people can dance now! It was a blast!
We're so glad we got to meet these two!
Great job once again=) They turned out beautiful. Alison was so excited to see them yesterday!
(08.15.10)Great pictures! I am anxious to see the rest of them.

Before I get into the wedding, I'll give you a little background. Like most of our clients, Josh and Laci were referred to us by someone else. (We have been so blessed with referrals and are very grateful for them, so THANK YOU!) That "someone else" happened to be two of our very great friends, Matt and Kelly. Josh is Matt's cousin and Matt was kind enough to send them our way! (I stole this picture from Kelly's blog!)

On a side note, because Matt and Kelly were here for the wedding, they got to stay with us at Casa Call where we played some Settlers of Catan and ate yummy donuts! =) Hooray for friend time!
Anyway, back to wedding weekend. Friday night, they of course had their rehearsal dinner but it was even more special because Josh and Matt's grandparents (Oma and Opa) were celebrating 60 years of married bliss and their family had the sweetest little reception for them. You'll see a few pictures of that below but basically, each grandkid presented Oma and Opa a figurine that represented him/her and told a story or two that made everyone laugh and/or cry. And let me tell you what... there wasn't a dry eye in the house... including mine! It was such a cool thing to be a part of.
As for the wedding, it was just as sweet as I expected. Laci was an awesome bride and managed to stay incredibly composed all day. They hung out in the biggest bridal room I've ever seen and all the girls got pampered with hair, makeup, and pizza! Meanwhile, the guys huddled around i-phones to watch the World Cup game. You can imagine the upset when we didn't win. The reception was just as great and as time went on there were TONS of people out on the dance floor having a blast! It was fun! I even caught myself bustin' a move a time or two. (Oh come on now, you can't expect me to completely hold back... working or not!!) =)
All this to say, it was a great weekend! We wish Josh and Laci all the happiness in the world. I know they'll have it! Congrats guys!
They look like they had a blast! Oh, and of course the pictures are AMAZING! :)

Drew and Kari's wedding started out with some praise and worship music and their families prayed over them during the service. I thought that was great. They really made the wedding their own. Aside from both being amazing Christian examples, they are also both runners (hence Drew's purple shorts you'll see below!). I think may favorite part of the day was when they excitedly bounced back down the aisle to David Crowder's "Happiness". I love that song and I thought it was used perfectly. I mean seriously, I don't know if it's possible to listen to this and not smile!?
Anyway, all this to say Drew and Karie are amazing, their wedding couldn't have been more perfect, and we're glad we know them! Check out a few of their happy pictures:
Beautiful couple. I love the pictures. Keep up the good work.
