If you follow me on Facebook, you probably saw that Dac and I celebrated being married 4 years on the 16th. (Obviously I'm a little late on this post.) Since I haven't blogged about it before, I thought I'd just share a couple pictures from our wedding day.
But first... a little back story. =)
Once upon a time.... ok, ok... I'll try to make it snappy. Dac and I knew each other as kids at church. I was little shy girl who always had her hair curled and wore pretty (pretty for the 90's, mind you) dresses (thanks mom!) =) Dac was the funny kid who was a bit of a pain in the butt and always got in trouble with the Sunday school teacher.
Then, after hanging out more in youth group, we became great friends and spent our summers together at the pool. We officially started "dating" in high school and we continued to date long-distance through college, until FINALLY... Dac proposed towards the end of my senior year in college. We got married in September of that same year (2006) and have been doing life together...laughing as we go...ever since.
Now to the pictures. The first one is of homecoming my freshman year. We were still "just friends" at this point and the whole getting dressed up and pinning flowers on each other while our parents stared at us was still a little awkward to say the least.
These next two are from a couple months before the wedding. Our actual engagement pictures look ridiculous thanks to a little hair-mishap Dac had, so these are the closest thing I'm willing to share today! =)
Here's just a few from our wedding day. We opted to have a pretty small, traditional little church wedding and reception. Our main color, was of course, orange. We played lots of jazzy music before the ceremony. We practiced what we currently preach and had a "First Sight". I, of course, laughed through our entire vows. And voila! We were hitched!
Here's one last shot for you. The guys were HILARIOUS....really. Not. =) However, I do get a kick out this picture. I think it's because, for some reason, when I look at it, it looks like Matt and Tarl are holding hands. =) Ah.
Well, that's that. we're almost embarrassed to say we've been together over 12 years but I guess it is what it is. Four married-years into it and I have no regrets! We make a good team! I keep him more focused, he keeps me more relaxed, and together we keep each other laughing! =)

In case you're new around here, I am a 'Big' with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. A couple weeks ago, I decided to take my 'Little' on a little final-fun-day before school started. She's a 7th grader this year. Um... when did that happen!? When I was first matched with her, she was in 3rd grade!!
Anyway, I decided to take her down to Stillwater's Jumpin' Little Juke Joint, Eskimo Joe's. I introduced her to the world of the perfect plastic cups, the art of cheese fries, and of course, the ever-so-popular Joe's t-shirt. She was skeptical of its coolness to begin with but by the time we left she was SOLD! Thatta girl! =)
We had fun and today, we decided to have a quick little Joe's photo shoot just for kicks!
Good times, good times.
While I've got you here, I want to remind you we still have time-slots open for our mini-session day. We are no longer going to be doing the sessions at Island Park but we'll keep you posted on the new spot! =)

Guess who we got to see this week? That's right, miss adorably serious. Only this time, she wasn't quite so serious... she was ALL smiles. =) She has really gown and has more personality than ever, and bonus, she just seems to get cuter and cuter every time we see her!
We headed down to OKC for these latest shots and it was a blast. We love getting together with this family and love that we've gotten to photograph little miss from the very start. That's one of the coolest parts of our job!
Here's some of our faves. Is she cute, or what?!?
Since we were down in OKC, I just HAD to see some of my old roomates/friends from my days at OSU. We ate some delicious BBQ, I ate my weight in Pink Swirl yogurt, and we had a great time catching up! Love those girls!
Reminder: We still have spots available for our Mini-Session Day. Click here for more information.

Chris + Erica + A Couple of Adorable Kids
If you've read this blog for long, or if you know me, you've probably heard of Chris before. Chris is an old friend of mine. I'm still not quite sure how we became friends back in elementary school and I'm not 100% sure how we've managed to stay good friends, but we have. When we were little, Chris made fun of me for running from bees on the soccer field. In high school, I sat with Chris and a couple other good friends, almost every day for 4 years. We always had the same lunch time. We also were in musicals together. In fact, we played a mean Mammy and Pappy in Lil' Abner our senior year. Chris would come over after school to run lines, but before we could, he made me drive him to Sonic (in my sweet little '90 Honda Accord...loved that car) and buy him a banana shake with extra bananas.
WHOA!
In College, I remember getting a late-night message from Chris saying he was heading out soon for boot camp to become a Marine. After he finished 4 years of that, he took some time off and signed with the Army. He's currently on a short leave from Afghanistan.
Since he's been home, he got engaged to Erica!! =) I don't think I've ever seen Chris this happy, so of course I'm happy for them. Erica had talked to me a few weeks ago about doing some pictures of her and her kids and some of her and Chris too. Turns out, we got to do a little engagement session too! We had a blast! I'm so glad we were able to do these and that they're getting to see them before he heads back! Congrats guys!!! =)
