We shot Tanner and Kelly's wedding in Stillwater back in December. Since Kelly was finishing up a semester of nursing school - the two decided to wait until it was warmer out to do "engagement" pictures. =)

Well - Warmer. It. Was. It was so hot and muggy! At least it didn't storm though - as we made the drive to Stillwater it sure looked like we were going to have to cancel. We stopped in to eat at the Golden Dragon and the clouds cleared away. Then we made a pit stop at The Barn so I could get my drink. THEN, we met Tanner and Kelly on the OSU campus for a fun, albeit warm session.

We had a great time catching up with these two! They're great!

We'll definitely have to get together again sometime and do some dinner or fro yo! =)

Wow. My heart goes out today. If you're local then I'm sure you've heard Joplin, MO (just a few hours away) took a direct and kind of sudden hit from a tornado yesterday evening. We had the pleasure of photographing the weddings of two Joplin couples last year. Even though their weddings are past, we consider these guys friends (as we do with all our brides and grooms) and when I heard, I immediately thought of them. However, it wasn't until this morning when I saw all the destruction on TV that my heart really broke for them.

I facebooked both Shannon and Andrea and thankfully both couples are safe! Shannon said stuff two houses down from them is destroyed and while Andrea and Ty were out of town, her mom was working at St. John's Hospital when it was hit. She is safe as well. Thank God! Also, the sanctuary where we photographed their wedding is no longer standing. Even in all the pain and destruction (89 confirmed dead as of this morning and hundreds missing). I pray God will bless the community and the people there in and through this.

Here's the happy couples!

Shawn+Shannon and Ty+Andrea (again, so thankful they're safe and sound!)
Living in Kansas, I know we take these storms for granted. I for one tend to get giddy at the thought of a storm. Even though we've seen them go horribly wrong time and time again, we still venture outside to check out the sky. We forget that sometimes they hit more than just empty fields. Sometimes they come unexpectedly, sometimes they destroy homes, businesses - community staples, and sometimes they take lives.

Today, we're thankful our friends are OK, that we have a home and jobs to go to, that we're safe. I so wish everyone could say the same. Join us in praying for the communities affected by yesterday's storms.

Oh how we love when Ruby and her parents (our amazing friends John and Anna) come to town. This every-3-month-picture-taking-business is great for forcing us to make plans. =) I'm kinda diggin' it. We just love these guys to pieces and are so fortunate to have such solid friends... they're the real deal and we always have a blast!

Here's a look at Ruby at 6 Months!

PS - see that picture of her on the carpet? The blanket is one of the aden+anais muslin swaddle blankets we got her. Cute huh? Anna said it's great so hooray for my childless self picking out a functional present! =)

The pic of her sitting up and looking straight into the camera looks just like a pic I have of John from high school!

A couple weeks ago we met Amanda and Adam in Pittsburg. Amanda grew up here and we've known her and her family for a loooooong time. She's graduating from Pitt State this weekend, where she met Adam about four years ago. (GO AMANDA!)

Though we'd met Adam before, we didn't really start getting to know him until within the past couple months or so. I liked him to begin with now each time we're with them I like him more. I think it's safe to say I approve! =) Not that my opinion means a hill of beans but I think they're great together and we had such a great time doing this session! In fact, we got to chatting so much that we almost didn't make it to the last stop, an hour away, before sunset. We were haulin' and thankfully, made it just in time!

Adam and Amanda had some great locations picked out for us and of course they looked great too - Amanda is just beautiful - obviously. We had fun with their pups too! =)

Here's a condensed recap of the session:

Well, what do you think? Any one picture stick out to you? We are soooo looking forward to their big day in December!
